Coco Bambu Restaurant

Coco Bambu is a traditional restaurant in Brazil, specialized in seafood. This restaurant has a big variety of drinks, meals and a good place environment. They have an excellent service as well. If you don’t like seafood, don’t worry, because you can find great chicken and meat meals. I’ve been there many times and I always had good experiences.

There is a meal witch I do recommend. It calls Camarao Internacional (International Shrimp). It is shrimp, rice, peas and ham, mixed with a delicious white cream and cheese. If you are a meat lover, other option you can choose is Carne de Sol do Maranhao (sun dried meat). This special meat is served with a mix of rice, beans and cheese (Baiao de dois).

At first sight, the price can scary you, but don’t worry. One meal can feed until four people and you`ll pay around C$ 60 for it. On Sunday nights, they have promotions for some meals and you can check it on the website https://cocobambu.com/ .

As a good and known restaurant, it is not easy to get a table. If you are a big group, you should book it some hours before you arrive there. They have a lot of units around the country, so it’s no hard to find one near. If you come to Brazil and to want to have a good food experience, this is my advice for you.

  1. Is the atmosphere in the restaurant buzzy and fun, or very formal? I’d like to know if there are vegetarian options.. sounds like a pretty meaty place LOL. Amazing that you were in Brazil, I’d love to visit. I think I’d start with the street food vendors; I hear that is a great way to experience the tastes of Brazil. Keep writing!

    1. Hi Bumpyyear.
I would say that the atmosphere is buzzy and fun but, at the same time, comfortable and elegant. Being honest, I’m not sure about the vegetarian options, but I think they have it.
Personally I would rather restaurants than street food vendors. However, street food vendors could be a good option, depending on the region you are, namely, Bahia or Rio de Janeiro. In São Paulo, there is a big Market (Mercado Municipal), it’s like St. Lawrence Market in Toronto and you can try the traditional mortadella sandwich! It’s really good!
